Tips for Fast Recovery After a Tummy Tuck

It is deeply desired by most women to have a proportional and tight tummy. This is partly due to the year-round beach season in the Philippines, and in line with that, the aspiration to flaunt a seemingly perfect body.

Diet and weight management all depend on your discipline. But if you’re looking for an easy way to looking sexy you can always go for a tummy tuck. Just keep in mind that you may need some time to recover from the procedure.

Here are the few tips you need to take note to help your recovery after a tummy tuck surgery.

Proper Diet

While the result is undeniably effective and obvious, tummy tuck needs proper diet to be maintained. The obvious removal of visceral fats does not guarantee that you won’t grow them anymore without watching your diet. You must heed a strict and proper diet before, and most especially after the surgery.

However, there shouldn’t be any significant weight loss before the surgery. A normal diet is highly advised with medications to be put on-hold till recovery. This is stated by Dr. Jun Caparas, a certified plastic surgeon of Zi Institute.

Avoiding Infections

It is a known fact that all surgeries incur some sort of manageable risk. But the occurrence can be minimized by asking the patient to bathe chlorhexidine solution to decrease the bacteria and their propagation to reduce the chance of getting an infection after the surgery.

Avoidance of having Constipation

It is an SOP not to force yourself especially any part of your abdomen to move or contract to avoid extreme pain and complications. We at Zi Institute prescribed our patients with a stool softener to lessen or even prevent constipation.

Follow required resting period

Like any other surgery, suggested resting period should be followed so as not to compromise the healing and recovery process. Some are able to come back to work in a week, but it is advisable to rest for two weeks.

Restrictions and Mobility

In line with the prescribed period for rest and recovery, there are also advices on the restrictions in what the patients shouldn’t be doing during that period. These include exercises and strenuous activities that can make you feel uncomfortable or in pain.
